ASU MLK Jr. Celebration

Every year the Arizona State University Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration Committee holds a competition for the visual communication design junior class. We were tasked in coming up with a theme for the next year’s celebration. The theme had to represent Martin Luther King Jr. and what he stood for. My team, named Olika, used the MLK quote “Skin may differ, but affection dwells in black and white the same.” Our main tagline was “Race may differ. Respect everyone.” We designed figures of diverse people using key board characters. Our deliverables were a website, an evite, t-shirts, bookmarks, buttons, a website, animations, and social media posts. The theme was used across all three ASU campuses for the 2021 MLK Celebration.
